Guidelines for Article Submissions
About Artella
Artella is a magazine, support network, and lively community for writers, artists, and creative spirits.
Our magazine alternates between print and electronic issues, which are interactive PDF files called e-Artella issues. Both print issues and e-issues contain a combination of creative collaborations between writers and artists, and articles on topics of interest to our audience.

We also publish The Artella Daily Muse, the only daily creativity newspaper in the universe, which includes a daily feature for writers. You can sign up for a free two-day subscription to the Daily Muse at this link.
Our Current Needs (updated 3-5-07)
We are seeking short articles (approximately 600-1000 words) on topics of interest to writers. While we are open to articles of all topics, we are most interested in the following:
- Articles about writing poetry (any aspect), to be featured in our PassionPoetry eZine
- Tips, advice and inspiration for writers (novice to professional)
- "A Day in the Life" articles that paint pictures of the writing life
- Articles connecting writing to other creative arts (visual art, dance, music)
As stated previously, we are open to all submissions, so don't hesitate to send us your work, even if it falls outside of the above categories.
Please note that our tone is generally upbeat, artistic, inspiring, fun. We suggest that you look around our site to get an idea of the types of things we offer to a wonderful community of writers and artists around the world.
Authors retain copyright of any work published in any of our magazines, e-zines, or newsletters. We glady accept reprints, provided you hold the reprint rights; however, please provide information regarding an article's previous publication.
Payment Terms
- We will pay $50.00 per article selected for poetry-themed articles selected for publication in the PassionPoetry newsletter. Payment is made within 14 days of publication date.
- Articles not related to poetry will be considered for our other publications, including e-Artella magazine and the "Write InStyle" section of The Artella Daily Muse. Articles published in e-Artella and The Artella Daily Muse are not paid, however,
we include a bio with photo and active links, and all authors retain copyright of their published works.
Submission Instructions
Please send completed articles pasted in the body of an email to customer-service@artellaland.com. In the subject of the email, please write "Article submission", followed by your name. The first part of the email should include the following general information:
- The title of the article
- Your name
- Your email address
- If this article is a reprint, information about previous publication
- A one-paragraph bio (4 sentences max)
After you have entered this general information, paste the full article in the body of the email. Emails with attachments will not be accepeted.
You will receive a confirmation email to notify you that your article has been received. Typical response time is 4 weeks, though if we have an immediate need for your article, we may move much more quickly than that.
