What did participating in Artella's Mystery Muse 2005 mean to you? I had such a great time -- Like many people have said, I too actually forgot that I was also recieving something! I became so caught up in the excitment of making! It was such a joy to conjure up ideas for a complete stranger. And then, finally after making something, send that creative energy out there. Thanks so much Fred for organising this wonderul exchange -- Please can there be more than 2 a year!? =)

Share a message for your Muse-ee: To My Patient and Caring Muse-ee Michelle in Australia: I am sorry the package has still not reached you. I am in the process of searching for my PO reciept so I can have it tracked. Please let me know if it shows up. A organizationally challenged Muse in Utah. LOL

Still no Package? Sooo sorry. I am diligently looking for the PO reciept so I can put a trace on it. Do not dispair! It will show up or I will send another. Let me know. Carol in Utah

What did participating in Artella's Mystery Muse 2005 mean to you? As always, the Mystery Muse project was a delight to participate in. There is a special feeling you get when you create something for someone special, and even though we know little or nothing else about our Muse-ees, we know that they are all creative people who appreciate art for art's sake. And art that has been created just for them. I am looking forward to the next go-round.

Share a message for your Muse: Thank you so much Julie Wheeler of New Hampshire for the hand made dolls, the lovely bag, and the beautifully decorated box. I, like some of the others who posted here, so enjoyed making something for my muse-ee that I had forgotten that something was coming for me. What a nice surprise to open the mailbox and find your package. Thank you.

Share a message for your Muse-ee: Being an expat Aussie, I was thrilled to again have an Aussie for my Muse-ee. When I created my gift for Cherry, I thought about the season change and created a piece of summer jewelery, a nice change from thinking about winter here in Canada. I enjoyed our exchanges by email and am so glad the gift arrived so quickly. Enjoy!

Other comments: Thanks again to Fred for coordinating this year's version of Mystery Muse. Looks like it was a great success again.

Share a message for your Muse: Mystery Muse from Canada,
I received the book of retreat ideas this weekend. Yay! And, such a nicely decorated envelope! Thank you very much. I think an art retreat is in order... very soon! I often take trips to ComforQueen.com and I recently ordered Jennifer L.'s 2006 Inner Organizer so the gift is very appropriate! P. S. I also tried the Christmas cookie recipe over the weekend... Yum! :-)
Have a super-fantastic 2006!
Wendy Allison

What did participating in Artella's Mystery Muse 2005 mean to you? Participating in the Mystery Muse offers me an opportunity to stretch myself creatively. I think my favorite part is coming up with something for someone I don't know.
Of course, the anticipation of receiving an anonymous gift from the heart, and not knowing when it will come, is fantastic. And like someone else stated earlier, I had forgotten that I was receiving something so when it arrived, it was so exciting!
This is the third time that I have participated, and look forward to more Mystery Muse projects.

Other comments: Dear Fred: Thank you so much for organizing this event. I cannot even begin to imagine the work involved in match and tracking participants.
Thank you again. I am in eager anticipation of the next muse project.

What did participating in Artella's Mystery Muse 2005 mean to you? I love creating things for others......and I love receiving surprises!

Share a message for your Muse: A HUGE thank you to Jennifer Griffin of Pearl, Mississippi for the oh-so-beautifully crafted journal. I am thoroughly enjoying just looking at it.....and deciding exactly what I will use it for. I have 2 or 3 ideas....but which is most deserving of such a lovely home?
Thank you again -- I truly appreciate you!

Share a message for your Muse-ee: It was fun creating and sending items to my musee Karen in Saginaw, Michigan.

Other comments: I am so grateful to those of you who make this happen -- the musees, and muses, Marney, and most especially, that patient, brave soul, Fred.

Share a message for your Muse-ee: To the forgotton muse-ee in FL: A package is on its way to you with love and caring. Hope you enjoy it. An Angel

What did participating in Artella's Mystery Muse 2005 mean to you? I love the flow of creativity and respect between artists.

Share a message for your Muse: My muse is a very creative, generous soul. She sent me a clay jointed doll with butterfly wings. It is stunning. A little while later, I received a cigar box full of wonderful ephemera to play with. She is a giving artist. Her name is Kathy Mork (Mark?).

Share a message for your Muse-ee: My poor muse-ee! She had to wait until the last minute. We've "talked" on ArtellaVision so I let her know that I was her Muse and that I was behind schedule. She is also a generous soul and was not concerned by my tardiness. I was blessed to have a patient Muse-ee. Thank you Kimber!

Share a message for your Muse-ee: Julie(WV):-- Your (hopefully)inspirational packet is joyfully enroute. :0) Blessings, Barbara-- your "WetCoast" Canadian muse. 06/01/06

Other comments: Just a thought for those Muse-ees who may have received something that does not appear to be a blessing: perhaps you are meant to be the middle-man, and there is someone you can pass your gift along to.

Share a message for your Muse-ee: Yvonne, I'm so glad you like your box I made. It seems like I always give away the things I treasure most while making them. This time, however, I took pictures of it, so I can remember it and that I shared it with the most deserving muse-ee ever! All my love, Erica G.

Other comments: Thanks Artella folks for all your work and inspiration.

What did participating in Artella's Mystery Muse 2005 mean to you? I really enjoyed creating something new as a gift for someone. If I hadn't taken on being a muse I would have found dozens of excuses why I don't have time to paint. I love doing anything creative but I always feel I have to justify the time! I am now committed to making sure I have time for painting, and creating, and in fact have booked on to two further workshops in the New Year. So thank you, thank you, thank you, - I took this on thinking it would be nice to do something for someone (and to receive a surprise too) - and I got so much more than I expected.

Share a message for your Muse: I want to say thank you to Andrea Stork from Portage, MI, for the most beautiful woven scarf. It is so gorgeously soft, (is it alpaca wool?) and it's my favourite colour, red. I have worn it every day since I received it and I just absolutely adore it - thank you so much Andrea. I've written to you, but unfortunately don't have your e-mail address.

Share a message for your Muse-ee: For Annie in Arundel, ME. I really loved creating a new painting for you. I had learned a new technique which I had such fun playing with, I almost left it as an abstract, but I love butterflies and I had some new shimmer paints so I couldn't resist! I was delighted to receive your e-mail and to know you liked it, and I've seen your posting about 'purple butterfly' and I'm stunned, the synchronicity is astounding!

Other comments: This was such a brilliant game - I would love to do this every year. Thank you Artella, and Fred particularly, for all the work that went into arranging this. I wish you a very creative and prosperous 2006.

I took it along to share with everyone, but was waiting till the appropriate time (you know, when my intuition told me to!). Well, the teacher suggested that as my homework assignment I get real with myself, figure out who I was and what I really wanted. The quote you wrote on the wee painting was right on. It begins: "Everybody is original, if they tell the truth, if they speak from their true self..." Thank you so much for listening to YOUR intuition, Sarah! Erica

What did participating in Artella's Mystery Muse 2005 mean to you?

I was quite nervous about making something for someone I didn't know: am not confident about my creative abilities. Having said that, it was fun creating Christmas ornaments from seeds, and decorating the box with lavender from my garden! Share a message for your Muse: My Muse is from Tennessee, and sent me a lovely pendant. Being the child that I ultimately am, I immediately put it on, and haven't taken it off yet! It has been just as much fun to share the story of this pendant with friends and family. Thanks ever so much!

Share a message for your Muse: To Leslie Menard in Burlington, Washington: It came today! And OH I LOVE it. I love the combination of colors and the patterning you chose. The background is just beautiful.......Thank you SOO much. I am looking for the right place to put it - definitely no hiding away!!!!! Other comments: Fred, this has been SO much fun. What did participating in Artella's Mystery Muse 2005 mean to you?

It has become an important tradition for me and a way to celebrate the holiday season. There is something very special about giving art gifts and being part of an artistic community that is so talented and generous. Share a message for your Muse: Dear Bonnie in California - mother of "Fred" and "Ginger". Your package arrived today. Sadly, there is no live camera to show you my reaction. In words - I cut open the edges of the box and dug out the fabric-wrapped gift (LOVE the fabric!). Hmm what's this, I said. Then I undid the bow and peeled back the layers. Oh, I said, boxes? Then I turned the two frames to face me. Oh my GOD! These are FAN*TAS*TIC!! I love the colours! I love the art! I love the subject! Roosters - in part - symbolize for me a new dawn, a new day and hope ... Now my biggest challenge is where to show them off to best advantage. :) I promise to take very good care of my new feathered friends. :)

Share a message for your Muse-ee: I have one more item to post in the mail ... it will be there by New Years. I'm so glad you liked the beaded ornament. I call the one I sent you - Classic Candy Cane. :)

What did participating in Artella's Mystery Muse 2005 mean to you? It meant my imagination could play a bit and be free of so many restrictions.

Share a message for your Muse: I haven't yet heard from my Muse - maybe today!

Other comments: This has been a FUN project! I had an idea pop into my head that was so unlike anything I had done, I just HAD to do it...and it worked! That for me was the best - learning to trust my feelings.

Share a message for your Muse: Dear Gail:
What a delightful package from you from Australia! I loved the little altered book, and the haiku! And the quarter-fold with its wonderful bookmarks was such a nice thing. All of your art is delightful, and I will enjoy using the bookmarks. Thanks, too, for the sea shells, and for the Mozartian stationery. How did you know that reading and music are two of my favorite things? Thanks ever so for your thoughtfulness, and the obvious love that went into your gifts for me. You blessed me with your "muse-ing"!
Barbara

Just a note to say that your Canadian musee feels so honored to receive not one but two lovely packages from you. The ATC was lovely. I think it will go on the tree. I kept thinking of you as an Amy instead of as a Kim but at least I only handwrote it very small so please feel free to cover with a sticker. I did not mean to make you feel less special! The people at the post office misunderstood and when I wanted to take back home and open they said I couldn't because it was already metered! What a mess! I hope you are enjoying it anyway! Bev.

Share a message for your Muse: Hello Mystery Muse out in Seattle Washington! I just wanted to tell you that your gift arrived earlier this week and I was thrilled!!! Sorry for all the exclamation marks but I AM excited. You see yours was the very first decoration I hung this year. Our wee grandson and our daughter moved back in with us earlier in the month of November and I got laid off late in October, so I was feeling a little glum looking toward the holiday. But your most beautiful creation opened my heart to all the beauty around me. It is exquisite. I was so inspired. Wait, make that I AM so inspired. I actually found some time to work on my own pieces for sharing. Thank you, thank you, thank you and thank YOU. May your holiday be as special as you are.

What did participating in Artella's Mystery Muse 2005 mean to you? Connected me to another creative soul who understands that "call" from my inner MUSE to the craft room...at every hour of the day and night. I decided to write my Artella Muse and found that we share quite a bit in common - though thousands of miles away!

Share a message for your Muse: I so look foward to the visit to the mailbox every day. I know the anticipation of seeing this special handcrafted gift will be surpassed by holding the creation in my hand, exploring every nuance and asking my inner Muse, "can we do that?"

Share a message for your Muse-ee: How terrific to just talk to you by email. I'm so glad I took the time to write you first - so my inner Muse can formulate the vision of what I hope will be a terrific personalized handmade gift(s) to arrive to you very soon!

Other comments: Loving this so much. Thanks to all who organized and participated.

What did participating in Artella's Mystery Muse 2005 mean to you? As with all things Artella this was a sheer delight to be a part of. And once again I turned my hand to something I've never tried before - I drew a picture from still life, made a mount, found a frame and shipped it off with a wing and a prayer to my Musee. I'm trusting it arrives safely, and more importantly that she is able to sense all the love with which it is sent from this side of the ocean.

Other comments: The wonder of Artella is the safe place it offers timid creative bods like me who are taking their first tentative steps towards the creative life they have always dreamed of. And taking part in something like the Mystery Muse makes the reality of all the gorgeous creative souls around the world all the more tangible.
