
Arthiss Kliever (Mrs. K.), Supervisor of Launa's Little Library in the October 4, 2004 PEOPLE magazine! A Message from Mrs. K.: Launa's Little Library had its beginnings as my daughter's third-grade classroom library. When Launa left the teaching profession and moved away from Dallas, I kept her books, with the promise that I would do something special with them. Because of my several years experience working as a Library Specialist at Southern Methodist University, and another year I spent as a volunteer helping organize a children's after-school library for the Dallas Public Library, I realized how much I love library work and children's books, and how attached I had become to the books Launa had given to me. And so I decided to enlarge the library, re-organize it, and open it in my home for the pleasure of the children in the neighborhood. Launa's Little Library opened in the fall of 2001, and now has over 5,000 titles for children of all ages including:
